Ground Zero Movie Review (Pre-Release): Emraan Hashmi’s new film based on the story of real hero of Jammu and Kashmir

After continuous unsuccessful films, actor Emraan Hashmi is coming to the audience with a new hope. His next film ‘Ground Zero’ is inspired by the real life and adventure of the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Jammu and Kashmir. In the film, Imran is playing the role of BSF Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, which is associated with a very important campaign run by security forces during the incidents of extremism in Jammu and Kashmir in the 2000s.

Director Tejas Deoscar said that ‘Ground Zero’ was shot in Kashmir, which was very challenging but during this time the team also had many amazing experiences. He said, “Shooting in Kashmir has a different attraction. Despite the challenges, we got a chance to visit places where the common people are difficult to reach. Local administration and army cooperation was very important for us.”

During the shooting of the film, the team spent about a month in less familiar and inaccessible areas of Kashmir. Tejas said that the team got an opportunity to explore those places which are not even open to tourists. Sharing his experiences, the director said, “In 25-26 days we saw various social structures, local people of Kashmir, and natural scenes very closely. The experience of understanding the reality was completely different from the media.”

Before the release of the film ‘Ground Zero’, a special screening for BSF jawans will be held on 18 April 2025 in Srinagar. The film will be released in theaters on 25 April 2025. However, the film’s performance and the audience’s reaction can be gauged only after release.
