The new season of the Indian Premier League began on Saturday with Royal Challengers Bangalore beating defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders in the opening fixture. It’s Day 2 of the tournament there will be two matches played.

The day will start with Sunrisers Hyderabad hosting Rajasthan Royals in the afternoon fixture. The second match is a blockbuster encounter between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Before the start of the matches, Grok AI has predicted the winners and player of the match from each match through it’s calculations. However, it also said that results may vary.

The post on X said, “SRH likely to beat RR with Travis Head or Heinrich Klaasen as Player of the Match, thanks to strong batting and home edge. CSK favored over MI, with Ruturaj Gaikwad or Ravindra Jadeja tipped for Player of the Match, boosted by home conditions and MI’s key absences. Predictions based on form and analysis, but results may vary.”

SRH looking to build on last year’s success

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had an impressive run in IPL 2024, finishing as runners-up. Under the leadership of Pat Cummins, they played an aggressive brand of cricket and gave tough competition to most teams. They made it to the Qualifier 1 and the final but ultimately lost to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in both.

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma were instrumental at the top of the order, forming a powerful partnership that helped SRH win several matches. For IPL 2025, the Sunrisers have further strengthened their squad by adding Mohammed Shami to their bowling attack and Australian spinner Adam Zampa. These additions are expected to make them an even more formidable side this season.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) will begin their IPL 2025 campaign with Riyan Parag as captain for the first three matches, as Sanju Samson is still recovering from a finger injury. Parag, who was the third-highest run-scorer for RR last season, will have his hands full in his new leadership role. While he has shown great form with the bat, leading the Royals will certainly come with its challenges.

CSK and MI aim to bounce back in IPL 2025

The 2025 season of the IPL brings a sense of redemption for two of the most successful teams in history Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI). Both teams were disappointing last season, failing to make it to the playoffs. CSK missed out on a top-four spot after losing their final league match, while MI finished at the bottom of the table.
