Greater Noida Terminal: West UP’s largest railway station to be built in Greater Noida, Delhi’s stations will decrease pressure

Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh is going to get a big gift soon. Here the largest railway station of western UP is being prepared as ‘Greater Noida Terminal’. This station will be fully equipped with modern facilities and its construction will reduce the pressure on congested stations like Anand Vihar railway station and ISBT in Delhi.

The Greater Noida Terminal will be developed as a multi-model transport hub (MMTH) mega project. Apart from the railway station, the project will also include metro station, ISBT, local bus terminal and commercial areas.

About 100 trains including high-speed trains like Vande India will be operated from this terminal. 12 platforms and 63 yard lines will be built at the station, making the maintenance and operation of trains easier. The design of the station will be specially prepared, where trains will run on the lower floor and facilities like retail shops, offices and guest houses will be available on the upper floor.

The total constructed area of ​​the terminal will be around 70,000 square meters. Initially the estimated cost of this project was around Rs 1850 crore, but now this amount is likely to be almost doubled.

Currently, land acquisition work is going on fast and it is expected to be completed in two months. Most of the land acquisition work has been completed, only railway land acquisition work is yet to be completed.

The entire MMTH will be divided into two parts- the first area will be in 130 hectares of area, which will include ISBT, local bus terminal, metro stations and commercial areas. While the second zone will be in an area of ​​46 hectares, which will have railway terminal and related commercial development.

This ambitious project will not only become a modern transport center for western Uttar Pradesh, but it will also reduce congestion at busy stations in Delhi.
