Jhajjar, 15 November (HS). After the continuous worsening of air in the entire NCR including Bahadurgarh and Delhi, now despite the implementation of Grap-3 by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), the air remained very bad in Bahadurgarh on Friday. Dust also kept flying on the roads. To stop the increasing pollution, although Grape-3 has been implemented in the entire NCR, many restrictions have increased due to it. But no concrete arrangements are being made by the concerned departments to stop pollution. There was smog in many areas of the city on Friday morning and evening. Santosh, a resident of street number 6 of Arya Nagar, said that till around 7:30 pm, breathing was becoming difficult in his entire colony. A foul smell like burning rubber was coming in the air. Santosh told that taking a morning walk did not seem to be free from danger. Not only him but many people thought it best to completely close their houses and stay inside.
Dust flying on the roads is troubling people. Although the Municipal Council is spraying the roads with tankers in its area, but the roads in HSIIDC Sector-16, 17 are completely broken and huge amounts of dust keeps flying throughout the day. This is the reason why the pollution of Bahadurgarh is continuously increasing. After the imposition of Group 3 restrictions, brakes have also been imposed on BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel vehicles. Bahadurgarh, which was in the Orange Zone on Friday morning, reached the Red Zone by evening. AQI was recorded at 327 in red colour. Dr. SK Malik, head of Neema, said that this air is fatal for patients like asthma, heart and diabetes.
Under the provisions of Grape-3, the concerned agencies will have to increase the frequency of cle.ng of roads with machines. To stop dust, daily sprinkling of water will have to be done, steps will have to be taken to remove the dust accumulated in landfills. Public transport services will have to be intensified, Relaxation in travel during non-peak times will be implemented strictly. There will be a ban on construction and demolition, so that dust is not generated. Works like boring, drilling, digging, masonry etc will also remain closed. Sewer-water line, drainage, cable laying work will not be possible through open trench system.
According to Bahadurgarh regional office of Haryana State Pollution Control Board, there will be a ban on painting, polishing and varnishing. Major repairs are also not permitted except minor indoor repairs/maintenance. Road construction activities and movement of vehicles carrying construction material on unpaved roads will remain closed. Demolition waste cannot be dumped. There is a ban on operation of BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel LMVs (four-wheelers). There will be a ban on diesel MGVs registered in BS-3 or below in Delhi, unless they are for taking essential goods or providing essential services. Many important suggestions have been given for the public in Grape-3. It has been said that walk or use a bicycle for short distances. Share a car or take public transport to go to work. If possible, do work from home. Reduce journeys.
