Patna, 08 July (Hindustan Times).Bihar’s Governor-cum-Chancellor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has prohibited the Vice-Chancellors of five state universities from taking policy decisions.

Issuing a letter by the Governor of Bihar, the Vice Chancellor of five universities has been banned from transfer appointments including financial charge and many other policy works, which has been implemented with immediate effect.

This order will be applicable to the state’s Jai Prakash University – Chhapra, Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University – Madhepura, Patna University – Patna, Lalit Narayan Mithila University – Darbhanga and Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University – Darbhanga.

Letter issued by Raj Bhavan

The Raj Bhavan has issued a letter on Friday saying that the term of the Vice Chancellor of all these universities is going to end in September. In such a situation, it would not be appropriate to take any kind of policy decisions and financial work, therefore the Governor, who is also the Chancellor of all the universities, has ordered through a letter that no policy decisions/appointments or transfers should be made. Action should not be taken.

Along with this, decisions should not be taken in any new scheme and new work, in which finance work is being done. If there is a need to take such a decision in the interest of work due to special circumstances, permission should be taken from the governor first.
