On Monday, Deputy Chief Minister cum Finance Minister Samrat Chaudhary presented an annual budget of Rs 3,16,895 crore for 2025-26. Many major announcements were made for women and daughters in this budget, including the Kanya Vivah Mandap Yojana. This scheme will be helpful in providing financial relief to poor families.

While presenting the budget, Emperor Chaudhary said that the pavilion will be constructed for the marriage of poor girls in every panchayat. Along with this, all the facilities related to marriage will be provided at very low fees.

The scheme will be fully operated in the hands of women.
Poor families will help save half the expenses of marriage.
This will also promote women empowerment.

Announcement of ‘pink bus service’ for women

Keeping in mind the convenience and safety of women, the Bihar government announced the launch of ‘Pink Bus Service’ in major cities of the state.

Bus ride, driver and conductor – all women will be.
33% of the posts in Bihar State Road Transport Corporation will be reserved for women.
Women drivers will get cash grants for e-rickshaws and two-wheelers.
Women driving training centers will be opened in cities.

Education and health also priority in budget

A maximum provision of ₹ 60,964 crore was made for the education sector.
₹ 20,335 crore will be spent on health services.
In addition, the Bihar government has made a total of 52 new announcements.
