Government Employees: A 3-4% increase in DA of central employees in July, CPI-IW’s latest data increased expectations

News India Live, Digital Desk: Government Employees: Central employees and pensioners eagerly wait for the increase of dearness allowance to be held in January and July every year. The last DA growth had increased by only 2 percent, the lowest in the last 78 months. More than 1.2 crore central employees and pensioners were disappointed by this. In such a situation, everyone’s eyes are on the new DA hike from July 2025.

DA may increase by 3-4% Currently, dearness allowance of central employees is 55 percent. It is now expected that the government can increase DA by 3 to 4 percent in July. However, no official announcement has been made about this yet. The seventh Pay Commission is ending on 31 December 2025, so there is a lot of curiosity in this increase in employees.

CPI-IW new figures raised hope The Labor Bureau of the Ministry of Labor has released the All India Industrial Labor Price Index (CPI-IW) for March 2025. The march index has reached 143.0 points with a slight increase. After a steady decline from November 2024 to February 2025, March data has given some relief to employees and pensioners.

The annual inflation rate was recorded at 2.95% in March, due to the fall in the prices of food items. Although the CPI-IW index is slightly lower than 143.2 in January, the march lead may play an important role in July DA growth.

Central employees and pensioners are now waiting for the official announcement of the government, which can give them financial relief.
