According to media reports, under the new IT Rules 2021, the Government of India has taken strict action against apps providing obscene and pornographic content and has decided to block these apps to ensure that the data of Indian users is not misused. Don’t be. Recently, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan told in the winter session of Parliament that the Government of India has decided to block 18 OTT apps.

The apps contained pornographic scenes

According to media reports, a case has been registered against the app owners under section 292 of the IPC for serving obscene content. Apart from this, an order has also been issued to block these apps under Section 4 of the Prohibition of Indecent Representation of Women Act, 1986.
