News India Live, Digital Desk: During the religious journey (Jatra) held at the Shirgaon temple in Goa, 6 devotees died due to a sudden stampede, while more than 50 people were injured. The condition of some of the injured remains critical.
The incident occurred due to a sudden crowd and stampede during the journey. The administration immediately started rescue and relief work and all the injured were immediately rushed to the government hospital in North Goa in Mapusa, where they are undergoing treatment.
The local administration is currently investigating the reasons for the stampede. Expressing condolences to the families of the deceased, the state government has ordered a high -level inquiry into the incident.
