As part of its CSR initiative, GIC Re, in collaboration with the VMM Foundation (Virangna Mahila Mandal), has significantly contributed to the improvement of school infrastructure by constructing new toilet facilities in five schools across the Shapur region of Thane district. The beneficiary schools are located in the villages of Kinavali, Mugaon, Naryangaon, Veloli, and Umbrai.

This initiative is a crucial step toward enhancing hygiene and sanitation standards, ensuring a healthier and safer learning environment for students. By addressing one of the most basic yet essential needs—proper sanitation—the project supports not only the physical well-being of children but also their right to education, particularly for girls.

Representatives from GIC Re and the VMM Foundation reaffirmed their commitment to creating lasting impact through public-private partnerships focused on strengthening rural infrastructure and supporting inclusive education. The upgraded infrastructure is expected to reduce dropout rates and improve attendance, especially among female students who often face barriers due to lack of clean and private sanitation facilities. At the inauguration ceremony, attended by students, school staff, local community members, and Prabhu Kadam, assistant director of the information and public relations department, Maharashtra, the atmosphere was one of gratitude and optimism.
