GHMC Joint Commissioner Janakiram was caught in a compromising situation with a woman by his wife Kalyani at an apartment in Hyderabad’s Warasiguda. The incident, which turned violent, led to police intervention and an ongoing investigation.
According to media reports, Kalyani had grown suspicious of her husband’s behavior as he had been staying away from home frequently, citing work commitments. After monitoring his movements, she discovered that Janakiram was meeting a woman approximately 20 years his junior at an apartment in Warasiguda.
On Friday morning, Kalyani, accompanied by relatives, confronted Janakiram and the woman at the apartment. The confrontation turned physical when relatives allegedly assaulted both Janakiram and the woman. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
Warasiguda police arrived at the scene and took both parties into custody.
Speaking to reporters, Kalyani alleged that this wasn’t an isolated incident. She claimed that Janakiram had a history of engaging in inappropriate relationships with female employees throughout his career. “This has been a pattern wherever he has worked,” she stated.
Janakiram, who serves as Joint Commissioner in GHMC’s Administrative wing, has been facing marital issues due to his extended absences from home and suspicious phone activity, as per reports.
Warasiguda police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. When contacted, GHMC officials declined to comment on the matter, stating it was a personal issue under police investigation.
