Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Short of camera and accessories, an aspiring photographer looted a professional photographer with the help of his girlfriend and four aides in Berasia area. The mastermind of the loot, his girlfriend and four aides have been arrested, police officials said.
According to police, Vidisha resident Ajay Kushwaha works as a professional photographer at private functions. Ajay informed police that he got a call from a woman on January 9 offering to shoot videos and photographs at a birthday party.
On January 12, the woman again called Ajay and asked him to reach petrol pump on Narsinghgarh Road. Four persons in a car then took Ajay to Dewalkheda Road where they snatched his camera and other equipment along with his mobile phone and bike. Superintendent of Police (rural) Pramod Kumar Sinha said police team arrested five persons and on their confession arrested a 19-year-old girl who called Ajay.
Those arrested were identified as Aniket Bairagi (21), his girlfriend Janki Sen (19) both of Vidisha district along with Khalid Khan (35) and Rajesh Jatav (26) of Berasia, Anil Kushwaha (19) and Banti Dhakad (25) of Vidisha district. The recovered camera and equipment are worth Rs 6 lakh, SP Sinha added.
Confession of accused
Prime accused Aniket Bairagi told police that he took training for photography after completing his intermediate but needed a camera and equipment to launch his career. After failing to arrange for equipment, Aniket planned to loot them. He took help from Janki and persuaded the other accused to help him on promise of giving cash.
