The assembly session has started in Gandhinagar. During this session, the state government said in response to a question that in the last two years, the state government has earned a revenue of crores of rupees from petrol-diesel, CNG-PNG.
In response to a question in the assembly, the state government said that the government has received revenue of crores of rupees from petrol-diesel, CNG-PNG. In the last two years, the government has earned a revenue of Rs 40,569 crore on petrol-diesel, CNG and chemical fertilizers. A total revenue of Rs 19,828 crore was generated in the year 2023, including Rs 13,608 crore under VAT, Rs 2,468 crore under CST and Rs 3,852 crore under cess.
A total revenue of Rs 20,641 crore was generated in the year 2024, including Rs 13,869 crore under VAT, Rs 2,895 crore under CST and Rs 3,877 crore under cess. Thus, VAT rate on petrol is 13.7 percent, VAT rate on diesel is 14.9 percent, CNG is 5 percent tax, while CNG is 15 percent on bulk, 15 percent tax on PNG commercial, 5 percent tax on PNG non-commercial and 4-4 percent cess on petrol and diesel.
