After the Champions Trophy, the Pakistan Cricket Board is financially crushed. There are indications that the financial situation of PCB has deteriorated as it has drastically reduced the match fees of players in domestic cricket.

PCB has decided to pay a fee of only Rs 10,000 per match instead of Rs 1 lakh to the players in the upcoming National T20 Championship. The reserve player of the team will get only five thousand rupees. The tournament starts from 14 March. Abdullah Khurram, the chief executive of PCB domestic cricket, has been making a big cut in the facilities of domestic players for the past few months. Players who used to get the facilities of the first five or four star hotels are now being provided cheap housing. Along with match fees, their air travel has also been banned.

The PCB did not make any payment to the players and umpires last year. Despite being in the board’s policy, there has been no increase in the pension amount given to the former cricketers. While the match fees of the players are being deducted, some officers are taking monthly salary for millions of rupees. PCB is also making heavy monthly payments to its national selectors. During the recently played Champions Cup, five mentors were selected for five teams and they were paid lakhs of rupees. It is noteworthy that Misbah ul Haq, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Malik, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Sakalain Mushtaq have been given a two -year contract and each is being paid five lakh Pakistani rupees per month. It is noteworthy that the Pakistan Cricket Board has spent Rs 1.7 billion to upgrade Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Stadium in Lahore and Rawalpindi Stadium. The PCB has suffered a huge loss of Rs 35 crore, or Rs 200 crore per match due to the Indian team not playing in Pakistan in the Champions Trophy.
