Pahalgam: A video has surfaced on social media in which a family from Maharashtra is seen praising a cab driver in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam for helping them after they stranded in the area due to the terrorist attack in the region. The cab driver reportedly bought them to his house during the attack.

He not only gave them shelter but also made sure that they were given food and also ensured their safety at his house. However, the cab driver was sad as the incident has effected the tourism sector in the valley.

Many people in the valley rely on tourists for their earnings. The cab driver who has been identified as Adil said in the video, “Ghalti ek ne kari, saza sab ko bhugatni padegi,” (One person made a mistake, but everyone will have to suffer for it.) The video shows a family from Maharashtra praising Adil for his help which he provided in the difficult time of the attack.

A woman can be heard speaking in Marathi and saying, “This driver brought the tourists to his own house and kept them safe. He provided them food and also took them to a safe place. Since morning he is giving them assurance and asking them not to worry about anything.” The woman also introduced him in the video saying, “Yeh Adil bhai hai.” (He is brother Adil.)

Adil said in the video, “Abhi yeh jo kuch bhi hua is wajah se pura Kashmir ka economy effect hoga. Street vendor se leke bade bade hoteliers tak sab pe effect ayega iska. Hum iss cheez ko support nahi karte. Yeh saari insaniyat ka qatal hai.”

He further added, “Wahan pe masoom se bachche the, apni families ko leke ghumne aye the. Unko kya pata tha unke saath aisa hoga. Isse pura Kashmir badnaam hoga. hamare kaam pe effect hoga. Hamari economy gayi, hamara business gaya. Galti ek ne ki hai bhugatna sabko padega.”

The entire country was jolted by the terrorist attack which occurred in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. Around 2-3 terrorists opened fire at tourists in the region. They were disguised as army officers. The incident claimed lives of over 27 tourists, including foreigners. Indian government took strict and punishable action against Pakistan in view of the attack.

MEA announced that India has suspended the Indus Water Treaty. Attari-Wagah border will be closed and has asked Pakistanis to leave Indian within 48 hours.
