How does breakfast at a pink, cute, candy floss looking café sound? Especially when it serves gelatos for breakfast!? Well, Café Frozen Fun in Bandra not just serves breakfast but also has a range of dishes to lure children and adults to this gelato bar. The café is a cute 15-20 seater place dressed up in pink and flowers. Quirky notes about gelato on the wall makes it an interesting space to be in.
Frozen Fun, brand by Vasuki Punj, is originally a popular gelato brand. Inspired by Davide’s Cream Choc in Goa, Vasuki joined hands with him to bring the delicious gelato first to Delhi and then to other places in India. To take this venture to the next level, Vasuki decided to go Italian and have a café with a gelato bar. The first one opened recently in Mumbai.

Their signature Gelato In Brioche Bun is a perfect way to start a brunch. Yes, a brunch is a better option so that you can enjoy the music and food. You have a choice of three gelato flavours. They have quite a choice of egg dishes. The Turkish Eggs served with in-house baked ciabatta is perfectly cooked and flavourful. If you like salmon, then try the Smoked Salmon on Poached Eggs. Served with homebaked sourdough, avos and red radish it is a good meal in itself or just a great pick-me-up breakfast.
Go on to eat Ricotta and Figs on Toast or the Peri Peri Chicken Toast. The latter is little spicy but tasty. The homemade sourdough makes a great base for both. The flavours of cheese and figs are delectably matched.
They have a good choice of healthy bowls as well. The Super Millet Bowl is a great choice for vegetarians. Rightly cooked barley served with roasted beets, avocado, kale, pumpkin seed with tzatziki is a medley of tastes and textures. Non vegetarians should savour the Protein Bowl. Grilled chicken breast along with black rice, edamame pods, avocado, roasted pumpkin finished with a delicate dressing on the side. A complete, delicious meal in itself.

Do try their pizzas as well. Especially the Quattro Formaggi. Light, sourdough base topped with four cheeses — mozzarella, parmesan, gorgonzola and cream cheese. House Special Minced Lamb Pizza too is worth trying. Lamb ragu mixed with tomato sauce, herbs is flavoured with mint before spreading it generously on the sourdough base.

They have a choice of paninis and salads as well. The Beetroot Couscous salad is a delight to eyes and palate. Couscous is cooked in beetroot juice and served with feta cheese, walnuts, pickled onions, tossed with honey, lemon and cumin dressing. Go for it.
The gelato parlour serves smoothies, sorbet mocktails that can be good company to the food. And of course they make the best desserts. They have some classic Italian flavours like Sicilian Pistachio, Venetian Tiramisu, Belgian Chocolate and some originals like Bubblegum along with vegan sorbets.
