The ‘Vehicle-Free Day’ at Pimpri Market will conclude on Sunday
Mawal MP Shrirang Barne inaugurated the much-anticipated ‘Vehicle-Free Day’ on Saturday, Mar 8
Barne praised the initiative and encouraging PCMC to implement similar pedestrian-friendly measures across the city
The two-day event, organized by PCMC, is taking place on Mar 8 and 9, 2025, from 8am to 9pm
The first day of the event saw large participation from citizens, traders, and community groups who enjoyed a variety of activities, including Zumba, hasya yoga, live music
The event also featured cycling activities, interactive games for children, Women’s Day special events like Khel Paithanicha, quizzes
PCMC Additional Commissioner Vijaykumar Khorate stated that the goal of the event was to assess the feasibility of pedestrianising key commercial areas
The market area was beautified with shaded walkways, seating spaces, and vibrant street art,
The event was attended by several PCMC officials, local representatives, and community leaders, as well as experts from ITDP, traders, students, women’s groups
