Four people sustained injuries after a fire broke out at a bakery in Byculla East on Monday evening. The officials of the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) successfully extinguished the fire within one and half hour. However, two of the injured, who suffered burns exceeding 30%, were transferred to Bhatia Hospital for advanced medical treatment. The condition of the other two victims is reported to be stable, according to officials from the fire department.

A fire broke out at around 5:15 PM on Monday at Super Bakery, located on Sheth Motishah Lane in Byculla East. According to fire officials, the blaze was confined to the bakery’s ground floor and was swiftly brought under control, preventing further damage and injuries. “A minor fire broke out in the bakery’s ground floor. Though it was extinguished, three workers and the owner’s son were injured,” a fire official stated.

The fire official rescued the four injured and rushed them to Masina Hospital for immediate treatment. However, Shariar Reisi (36), the son of the bakery’s owner, who sustained 35–40% burn injuries, was later transferred to Bhatia Hospital due to the severity of his condition. He was accompanied by another injured worker, Jayesh Parekh (46), who suffered burns covering 25–30% of his body. Meanwhile, the other two injured workers Jubved Sidhique (25), with 15% burns, and Jabril Ahemad (23), with 20% burns — remain in stable condition and are receiving treatment at Masina Hospital, confirmed fire official. 

In another incident, a fire broke out early Monday morning at BDD Chawl No. 45, located on Dr. G.M. Bhosale Marg in Worli. According to fire officials, the blaze was confined to the meter box on the ground floor of the ground-plus-four-storey building. Emergency teams from the G South Ward, along with local police and the fire brigade, responded promptly and managed to extinguish the fire within an hour. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this incident, as per fire official.
