Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The foundation stone of the first toy cluster of the State was laid in the Rau Industrial area on Tuesday. The fast-growing toy manufacturing units located in the different industrial areas of the city have shown a great interest in setting their units in the cluster.
General manager of District Industries Center (DIC) SS Mandloi and president of Association of Industries of Madhya Pradesh Yogesh Mehta performed the bhoomi pujan of the cluster. On this occasion along with large number of industrialist saint Dadu Ji Maharaj was specially present. AIMP president Mehta, informed that AIMP and Indore International Toy Cluster Association, along with the state government, gave it a concrete shape.
Today we have also laid the foundation stone of the first unit in the cluster. Tanmay Chaudhary, a young entrepreneur, is going to set up his first industry here in the form of a unit called Playout. The unit is being set up with an investment of about Rs. 2 cr. which will offer employment to 40 people in the first phase. Mehta said that units manufacturing plastic, leather, softwood and caddy toys are operating in various parts of the city, out of which plastic, caddy for toys etc. are being exported to Gulf countries and Africa for the last several years.
He said that the city has created its special identity in the country and abroad for leather toys. But due to various reasons, this business is being affected adversely for the past many years. There was a demand for developing a toy cluster here. The association was also seriously trying in this direction, which seems to have become successful today.
