Navi Mumbai: In a bid to provide comprehensive and patient-centered care for both cancerous and non-cancerous blood disorders, Fortis Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi, has launched the region’s first dedicated Blood Disorder Clinic. The state-of-the-art facility, inaugurated on Wednesday, marks a significant advancement in specialized hematological care in Navi Mumbai, claimed the hospital.
The clinic is a specialized unit under the Fortis Institute of Blood Disorders, and is led by Dr. Subhaprakash Sanyal, Director–Fortis Institute of Blood Disorders, Fortis Hospitals Mumbai. The inauguration was officiated by Dr. S. Narayani, Business Head–Maharashtra, Fortis Hospitals, and Mr. Nitin Kamaria, Facility Director, Fortis Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi.
The Blood Disorder Clinic will offer focused treatment for life-threatening blood cancers such as Multiple Myeloma and Leukemia, as well as complex but non-cancerous conditions like Anemia, Hematomas, and other hematological disorders. A key feature of the clinic is its provision of CAR T-cell Therapy—a cutting-edge, personalized treatment that offers new hope for patients with certain difficult-to-treat blood cancers.
Dr. Subhaprakash Sanyal, who will lead the clinic alongside Dr. Hamza Dalal, Consultant–Haematology, and a multidisciplinary team, emphasized the critical need for such a facility.
“This clinic represents a rare and invaluable resource in a field that is often underrepresented. For patients fighting complex blood disorders, access to specialized care is essential—not just for treatment, but for survival. Our goal is to offer expert, compassionate, and precise care every step of the way,” Dr Sanyal said.
Speaking at the event, Dr. S. Narayani further said, “The Blood Disorder Clinic reflects our deep commitment to patients living with blood-related conditions. We recognize their challenges and are here to offer not only advanced treatments but also a healing environment that promotes holistic well-being. This is more than a clinic—it’s a safe space for patients to heal.”
More than just a treatment facility, the Blood Disorder Clinic is a beacon of hope for patients and their families—providing advanced therapies, dedicated support, and care with dignity, the doctor added.
