Mumbai: Former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh welcomed the CBI’s closure report on Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, affirming the Mumbai police’s suicide conclusion.
About The Case
Rajput was found dead on June 14, 2020. While Mumbai police ruled it a suicide, murder allegations led to the CBI taking over the case after a complaint by Rajput’s father.
Deshmukh stated, “As home minister, I maintained it was suicide. Opposition leaders politicized the case during the Bihar elections. The Mumbai police’s investigation concluded suicide, now confirmed by the CBI.”
He criticized the unjust scrutiny faced by Mumbai police despite their professionalism.
