Former deputy CM TS Singhdeo hurled a new series of allegations against then Bhupesh Baghel government during a media interaction and said, the previous government released less funds to the Municipal Corporation of Ambikapur.
Resulting in unrepaired roads, and curtailment in the budget of basic amenities of Ambikapur city.
Angry voters cast the vote against the Congress party candidate leading to his defeat in assembly elections. The first term of Ambikapur mayor was good, in the second term when his government was in place received less assistance. He further explained that the reason is known to all.
Singhdeo has given 6.5 out of 10 marks to the second term of Ambikapur Mayor Dr Ajay Tirkey. While he has given the first term 7 numbers. TS said that the first term was good. Work was good in the mayor’s first term (2014 to 2019), due to which he got a second chance.
He accepted that it was his fault. Though I was in the ruling government but failed to get enough funds, Singhdeo said. Lack of funds road works were not done at par as it was expected.
The main roads in the city belong to the NH and PWD, but they are also considered to be municipal corporations.
Singhdeo allegations again opened a front against former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel ahead of civic body elections in the state.
Political experts said, if the bickering between Singhdeo and Baghel will not be stopped in time then Congress might have to suffer in civic body elections.
Singhdeo lost the election with narrow margin against BJP contender
