Greg Chappell said on Travis Head: Former Australian batsman Greg Chappell has talked about the ongoing battle between Travis Head and Jasprit Bumrah in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. Till now it seemed that the Border Gavaskar Trophy is not a Test series between India and Australia but an India vs Travis Head and Jasprit Bumrah vs Australia series. Both these players are performing brilliantly in the series. However, Jasprit Bumrah does not have the ability of Travis Head. Now Greg Chappell said, Head treated Bumrah as if he was a normal bowler.

travis head vs jasprit bumrah

Travis Head has scored 409 runs in 3 matches so far in this series. Whereas Bumrah took 21 wickets in three test matches. Greg Chappell said, ‘Travis Head’s performance against Jasprit Bumrah shows his fearless attitude in this series. While most batsmen struggle to survive Bumrah’s bowling, Travis Head treated Bumrah like a regular bowler.

What did Chappell say?

Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Travis Hayden twice in this series. Head has scored two centuries during the series and he played an inning of 89 runs in Perth. Chappell said, ‘Bumrah is upset with the aggressive attitude of the head. By playing with intent and trying to score runs on Bumrah’s balls, Head not only reduced the threat to him but also spoiled Bumrah’s rhythm. Head has underlined his progress by hitting the short ball brilliantly and playing the full length ball with accuracy.’

Head can become the next captain of the Australian team

Greg Chappell had predicted that Head could become the next captain of the Australian team. He has been performing like this for the last three years. Considering this, he can be given captaincy in future. I believe that Travis Head has been the best batsman in world cricket over the last three years and this strengthens his chances of becoming the next Australian captain.
