Trigger Warning: Suicide Attempt
“On Saturday afternoon, he came to the police station and he said that he was under tremendous financial stress and he has no way but to end his life and then he starts to consume poison and that is when our staff stopped him mid-way. Yet he had consumed some of it and we immediately rushed him to the hospital,” police inspector Surendra Garad from Karjat police station said, adding, “We have made a note of the incident and further investigations are on.”
What Bharat Jadhav Said in His Video
In a video that Jadhav circulate before trying to consume poison, he circulated a video. In the video he says-
“Today, I am taking this step due to extreme mental stress. The prevalence of deceit in society has increased to such an extent that it has become impossible to work honestly. I was conducting my business ethically, yet I had to face obstacles.
“In my 25-year political career, no one can claim that I earned money dishonestly, unlike other politicians. About four or five years ago, we started a construction project in the Karjat-Jamkhed taluka – in partnership with Ramesh Asabe, Yunus Sayyed, Babichand Dhanawade, and myself. However, I am unaware of what transpired between Ramesh Asabe, and two other men Sachin Gavil, and Nilesh Gavil, but for the past two and a half to three years, they have been threatening us and stopping the construction work. Nilesh and Sachin regularly send two or three vehicles filled with 30-40 people to the construction site, scaring potential buyers. As a result, not a single booking has been made for the building. I took bank loans and invested ₹3-4 crore in the project, and now I am facing severe financial losses. The burden of repaying the loans and interest has become unbearable. To avoid further troubles, I started another business in Bhoom taluka, Jamkhed. In this project, Munna Bhai and Sandeep Agvane from Beed joined as partners. We invested ₹90 lakh and earned a profit of ₹60 lakh in 10-12 months. However, a dispute arose over ₹5-10 lakh, leading to fights and conflicts among partners. I tried to resolve the matter peacefully, but they fabricated fake bills while approving the GST payment, causing financial losses to our company, despite us having no fault in the matter.”
Jadhav also mentioned a case involving Narendra Jurani.
“I helped a person establish himself in Navi Mumbai, gave him opportunities, and supported his social upliftment. However, he eventually started using political connections for personal gain. Dutta Ghangale appointed him as the BJP Yuva Morcha District Secretary for ₹5 lakh, even though he had no prior connection with the party.”
“Jurani and his associates, including Vishal Dolas, Abhilash Mathew, Sachin Shinde, and Aniket, frequently harassed and abused me in public. Dutta Ghangale even threatened me with gang violence. Jurani’s family is aware that he deceived me. There is a limit to how much humiliation and targeting one can tolerate.”
“The government should investigate Narendra Jurani’s business transactions and ongoing projects in Ward No. 108. I purchased land worth crores in Karjat-Jamkhed taluka, yet several individuals extorted commissions from me. Dutta Pawar and Rupesh Pawar demanded ₹5-7 lakh for tree cutting and road clearing. Now, they have dug up the road leading to my land, making it impossible for me to sell it.”
