This time a historic scene will be seen in the Republic Day Parade on 26th January, in which the joint tableau of the three wings of the Army will be displayed for the first time on the grand duty path. Its purpose is to reflect the spirit of ‘togetherness’ among the armed forces. At the same time, the tableau of the Union Culture Ministry will present a glimpse of India’s cultural diversity and creativity, in which the Kinetic Kalpavriksha and the Tamil musical instrument Yadha will be performed on the potter’s wheel.
According to the Defense Ministry, the joint tableau of the three services will include the indigenous Arjun battle tank, Tejas fighter aircraft and advanced light helicopters, which will demonstrate the contours of simultaneous operations on land, water and air. Also, a battlefield scenario will be shown demonstrating a coordinated operation with the destroyer INS Visakhapatnam and remotely piloted aircraft.
The theme of the joint tableau of the three armies will be ‘Strong and Secure India’. It will also showcase the Joint Operations Room facilitating networking and communication between the three armies. The tableau will showcase the ideological vision of cohesion and integration in the armed forces, thereby ensuring national security and operational excellence.
On January 1, the Defense Ministry had declared 2025 as the year of defense reforms, and this year special focus will be given to promoting coordination among the three services of the military, the ministry said on Wednesday. The tableau will showcase the idea of how jointness and integration ensure national security and operational excellence.
The tableau of the Union Culture Ministry is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of ‘Heritage too, development too’, which showcases the country’s rich cultural heritage and immense potential for sustainable development. This tableau underlines the contribution of culture and creativity in the ‘Vision 2047’ of India becoming a developed nation.
Culture Secretary Arunish Chawla said, “The tableau of the Ministry of Culture is a glimpse of our country’s unique cultural diversity, creativity and sustainable development. The ancient Tamil musical instrument Yadha on the potter’s wheel symbolizes the depth and continuity of our tradition, while the kinetic Kalpavriksha transforms into a ‘golden bird’, conveying our creativity and economic progress.”
This year’s Republic Day Parade will be a unique blend of India’s cultural diversity and military prowess, with a special focus on 75 years of the Constitution and public participation. President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto will be the chief guest at the parade. Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh informed that a 160-member marching contingent and a 190-member band contingent from Indonesia will participate in the parade along with the Indian Armed Forces on the duty line on January 26, 2025.
