Mohamed Salah has become the first player to register a goal and an assist in eight different Premier League matches in the same season. Liverpool have extended their lead in the table to eight points with an impressive 5-0 win over West Ham United. Salah now has 23 assists in all competitions in 2024, the most in a calendar year by any Liverpool player in the Premier League era.

Luis Diaz gave Liverpool the lead before Salah called for Gekpo to strike and then scored himself in the third minute. Trent Alexander-Arnold’s deflected effort from distance extended the lead to four points and Dioga Jota completed the scoring before Salah’s superb dribble. It was Liverpool’s 14th win in 18 matches so far and they are eight points ahead of second-placed Nottingham Forest, the only team to beat them. West Ham is in 13th place.
