With the help of a goal from star player Cristiano Ronaldo, Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasser defeated Qatar’s Al Rayyan Football Club 2-1 in the AFC Champions League elite group stage match. Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo missed the 1-1 draw against Iran’s Al Shorta two weeks ago due to a viral infection.

One of his goals was ruled offside but he scored the second goal 14 minutes before the end of the match. Former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane gave Al Nasr the lead before half-time. Ronaldo made the score 2-0. Roger Guedes scored for Al Rayyan three minutes before the end of the match but he could not save the team from defeat. Elsewhere, Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahly won their second consecutive match with a 2-0 win over UAE’s Al Wasl. The match between Persepolis of Iran and Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan was a 1-1 draw.
