Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Icy winds from northern India continues to dip temperature across Madhya Pradesh. A cold-day alert has been issued in seven districts of Madhya Pradesh, including capital Bhopal, on Saturday.

Most of the districts of the state including Tikamgarh, Ashoknagar and Sendhwa were covered with fog in the morning. Visibility was around 10 meters in Sendhwa and around 50 meters in Ashoknagar. People came out with the headlights of their vehicles on. Due to dense fog in Gwalior, visibility decreased to just 50 meters.

Two Flights Delayed

Two flights to and from Indore were delayed due to foggy morning. The Bengaluru-Indore flight arrived two hours late at 9.16 am instead of 7.15 am on Saturday. At the same time, due to fog in Delhi, the flight that was to take off from Indore at 6.55 am departed one and a half hours late at 8.27 am.

The minimum temperature in Jabalpur was recorded at 7 degrees Celsius. The cold has increased further due to the cold wave, due to which people are feeling cold even during the day.

Dense fog and cold for next three days

According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of severe cold will increase further with the speed of icy winds. Fog will prevail in the state for the next 3 days. Earlier on Friday, cold-day like conditions prevailed in 18 cities of the state including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior-Jabalpur. The day temperature here was less than 23 degrees Celsius.

Weather forecast for next 2 days

19 January: Fog in Gwalior, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashoknagar, Sagar, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Satna, Rewa, Maihar, Mauganj, Sidhi and Singrauli.

20 January: Dense fog expected in Gwalior, Morena, Sheopur, Bhind, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur and Sagar.
