Mumbai: A viral post on X has highlighted the concerns of commuters regarding the Lalbaug flyover, calling it as a “death trap.” The post, made on March 7 by a X user, appeals for help and draws attention to serious safety issues. It features pictures of the flyover showing significant patches and damages on the road.
The user emphasized the need for urgent action, stating, “Let’s make this viral and get it FIXED before lives are lost!” The Eastern Express Highway (EEH) in Mumbai begins at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and extends to Thane, with the Lalbaug flyover being a part of this route. In response to the post, the BMC commented, “We regret your inconvenience. We have informed WARD FS BMC to address this issue.”
The Eastern Express Highway is a very busy route, especially during peak hours, connecting South Mumbai to the eastern suburbs and Thane. Meanwhile, in the Lalbaug flyover, the patches are causing issues for commuters.
