Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A woman working at a spa centre in Jabalpur has alleged that several spa centres in the city are involved in illegal activities and the owners force female employees to offer more that just a ‘massage’.
The woman, who was recently removed from her job at a spa centre without receiving her salary, made these serious claims after approaching the police with her complaint.
According to information, on Wednesday, the woman reached Omti police station and shared her complaint with the officers. The officers were shocked after hearing her claims.
The police immediately went to the spa center, located near Railway Bridge Number Four, where the woman used to work.
The police checked the spa center till late at night, but they did not find any suspicious activities there. The spa owner was asked to pay the woman’s pending salary.
However, the woman’s complaint has raised serious questions about how spa centers in the city are operating.
The woman, who is 30 years old and belongs to Assam, started working at the spa just 10 days ago. The owner had promised her a monthly salary of ₹20,000.
However, after just one week, she was told that her work was not good enough and was removed from the job. She did not receive any payment for the days she worked.
The woman claimed that many spa owners first offer high salaries to attract workers. Later, they pressure the women to do illegal work. If they refuse, they are removed from the job.
Due to this pressure and helplessness, many women are forced to do wrong activities.
The woman also named several spa centers and claimed that they are involved in illegal activities in the name of massage services.
She said that spa centers install high-resolution CCTV cameras outside their shops. When they see police or any suspicious person coming, they quickly send the girls away to avoid getting caught.
Because of these tricks, police do not find anything suspicious during surprise checks.
The woman also claimed that at many spa centers near Purana Bus Stand and Chautha Pul, young men and even older men spend a lot of money. They stay inside for hours in the name of massages.
She also said that spa owners offer extra money or commission to the women if they keep the customers happy. Many women fall into this trap, and their lives are ruined.
