Indore: Fire Brigade, SDRF Team To Get State-Of-The-Art Safety Gear | Representative Image
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): New fire stations will come up in several areas of the city to deal with fires and other disasters quickly and the fire brigade and State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) personnel will be equipped with state-of-the-art safety equipment. New fire fighting vehicles equipped with the latest facilities and equipment will be purchased as per the requirement.
This was informed in a meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee held here on Friday under collector Asheesh Singh. Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) commissioner Shivam Verma, additional police commissioner Amit Singh, additional collector Gaurav Benal, CEO of Indore Development Authority (IDA) RP Ahirwar, SP, fire brigade SK Kanakne and officials of other related departments were present in the meeting.
Collector Singh said that there should be quick response in case of fires and other disasters. He said that the fire brigade and SDRF teams would be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and there would be no shortage of resources.
All necessary material, equipment and vehicles should be purchased for rescue and relief work, he said, while giving instructions to buy vehicles with 30-metre hydraulic ladders.
He also directed to buy small vehicles to douse fires in densely populated areas. Instructions were given to start new fire stations in Scheme Number 78, Devguradia, Rau, Dhar Road and ISBT Kumedi in the city area soon.
The collector said the land for this should be identified and allocated soon. The meeting was told that new kits would also be made available to firemen. Multipurpose vehicles would be purchased and a public address system would also be arranged.
