A massive fire broke out at Maha Kumbh in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj on Friday morning. The blaze erupted at Shankaracharya Marg of Maha Kumbh Mela Kshetra in Sector 18.

After the incident authorities immediately swung into action. Fire tender are on the spot and efforts to douse the blaze are currently underway.

There are no reports of any injuries so far. The reason of the fire is not known. In the visuals that surfaced online, a thick cloud of smoke could be seen engulfing the area.

More details are still awaited.

The incident took place days after a stampede during the Maha Kumbh in which 30 people were lost their lives while 60 others were injured. The stampede occurred on January 29 at around 2 am as massive crowds thronged the ghats of Triveni Sangam for the Amrit Snan on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya.

On January 19, a massive blaze also erupted in a camp located in Sector 19, Tulsi Marg. The fire reportedly erupted was triggered due to the explosion of around two gas cylinders in rapid succession. Meanwhile, On January 25, a fire also broke out in Prayagraj near Maha Kumbh, engulfing two parked vehicles near the main road leading to the mega holy event.
