Nashik: Fire At Jindal Polyfilms In Mundegaon Still Smouldering On Day 4; Officials Urge Public Not To Panic | Tejal Ghorpade
The massive fire that broke out at Jindal Polyfilms Company at Mundegaon on the Nashik-Mumbai highway at 1am on Wednesday (May 21) has not been completely contained even on the fourth day (May 23), it is still smouldering. Work to bring the fire under control is underway on a war footing.
Although the administration has made tireless efforts to extinguish the fire, the blaze has flared up again due to flammable materials and raw materials in the company. On Wednesday morning, it seemed that the fire had been brought under control to some extent, but even then the fire continued to flare up again.
30 to 40 fire brigade vehicles from Nashik, Thane, Mumbai, Malegaon Municipal Corporation and other municipalities have reached the spot to control the fire. Efforts are being made to douse the fire using water and foam.
Do not believe rumours: Administration appeals
The district’s emergency system is actively working to prevent potential danger to citizens. At present, there is no need for citizens in the area to leave the village, but it is necessary to take care at the individual level.

Do not spread false information and rumours on social media and WhatsApp without any verification. Citizens should only trust official information.
Igatpuri-Trimbakeshwar Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Assistant District Collector Omkar Pawar and Igatpuri Tehsildar Abhijit Baravkar have appealed to citizens not to panic, as the government system is with the citizens. Police Inspector Vinod Patil has warned that legal action will be taken against those concerned if anyone is found spreading rumours.
