In shocking news, a 17-year-old boy was killed by his friend for his iPhone 11. According to reports, Patiala resident Navjot Singh celebrated his 17th birthday on March 24 with his family, and the next day, he left for a trip with his friends. He told his family that he was going to Haridwar with them. However, he later called his parents and informed them that he was returning home and not going to Haridwar.
That same night, police were alerted about a dead body spotted at a railway station. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the body in two parts, split from the stomach.
There were several injury marks on the chest, and police could not immediately identify the victim.
“We put up posters across the village to identify the body. Meanwhile, on March 30, Harjinder Singh, who was searching for his son, approached us,” NDTV quoted a police official as saying.
During the investigation, police discovered that Navjot was murdered by his friend Amanjot over an iPhone 11. Navjot’s phone was recovered from Amanjot, who was subsequently arrested and presented before the Juvenile Justice Board.
Another boy, who informed the Singh family about the incident, claimed that Amanjot had given him Rs 1,000 to assist in the crime. The boy, whose identity remains undisclosed, was allegedly threatened into helping Amanjot place the body on the railway track.
