Korean YouTuber ‘potatoturtleee’ visiting India accused a local shopkeeper of staring at her inappropriately and questioned whether he was interested in her. Speaking entirely in Korean throughout the video, she confidently recorded the incident, assuming the man wouldn’t understand her words. However, what followed was an unexpected twist that left her shocked.
“Hey, why are you looking at me? Do you like me?” she said while panning her camera towards the man. To her surprise, the man replied in Korean and explained that he was a shopkeeper at a nearby store who was simply standing outside his shop. “I work here,” he said in Korean, leaving the female YouTuber stunned.

She didn’t expect someone from the local streets of India to speak her language. She filmed the video in Korean and pointed at the man, claiming he kept looking at her, only to realise later that he understood everything she was saying about him.
“What the f***! You’re speaking Korean!” she exclaimed. She further asked him how he knew the language and spoke it so fluently. The man replied that he had worked at a store in Korea, which helped him learn the language.

YouTuber aplogises
After the man confronted her and the duo broke into a dialogue, the YouTuber apologised to him. “I’m sorry,” she said, realising that she had falsely accused him while recording him on camera.
An Instagram page posted this exchange between the Korean tourist and the shopkeeper online, captioning it as, “A South Korean YouTuber backpacking in India finally snapped after getting one too many stares on the street. She had no words, though, when the man snapped back… in perfect Korean! You see, @potatoturtleee forgot the number one rule of India: India is not for beginners”.
This clip is going viral on social media, earning praise for the Indian man who didn’t let the foreign woman make a negative remark about the men of this country.
