Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh): A six-year-old girl on Sunday was allegedly assaulted by her father after being forced to drink alcohol, leaving her severely injured. The police have taken the accused into custody, Habiganj police said on Monday.
According to police officials, a severely injured girl from Habibganj was spotted by a staff member of NGO, Muskaan, on March 30 who immediately rushed her to JP Hospital.
Victim found in a critical condition, unable to give a statement
It was first day of Chaitra Navratri, The victim was found in a critical condition, bleeding from her lower body and was in trauma. After examining her injuries, medical staff alerted the police. The police were unable to record statement from the minor due to her sensitive state but her mother later told authorities that the girl had revealed the terrible details of assault before she was admitted to hospital.
Police station incharge Sanjeev Chauksey told Free Press that the police were waiting for results of medical report to file a case. TI Chauksey further stated that the mother, who was not present during the assault, claimed that the father had forced the child to drink alcohol before the attack. The accused is currently in police custody, and the inquiry is still proceeding.
