Fatehabad, 08 July (Hindustan Times). A major incident of theft was averted in Tohana on Saturday morning due to the vigilance of the watchman. Two bike-borne masked thieves broke the shutter locks of a mobile shop located on Railway Road and as soon as they tried to break the glass lock inside, the watchman coming from a distance sensed the theft incident and blew the whistle. Fearing this, both the thieves fled on the bike. After getting the information of the incident, the shop owner reached the spot. Later the police was informed about the matter. The entire incident has been captured in the CCTV footage.
Tohana resident Mitesh Kumar told that he runs a mobile shop on the railway road. He closed the shop late at night and went home. In the CCTV footage, at 4.10 am, two youths wearing red and white T-shirts were seen outside the shop wearing masks. He stopped the bike and broke the shutter lock with the rod. After this, he tried to break the lock of the glass inside. Meanwhile, after guarding Bakshi Ground, when the watchman comes towards the railway road, he sees the bike and two masked men outside the shop from a distance and whistles from there. On this both the thieves escape from there. After this, the watchman only informed him about the incident over the phone. Theft of lakhs of rupees was averted due to the vigilance of the watchman.
