Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Under the Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan to be organised in all the districts of the state from May 29 to June 12, teams of scientists will visit villages and create awareness among the farmers about the use of technology and know-how of latest agricultural practices to increase production.

According to official information from the city-based National Soybean Research Institute, the teams will visit different villages and create awareness among the farmers about adopting the latest technology and means of increasing production. During the campaign, four different teams comprising scientists of the National Soybean Research Institute, Krishi Vigyan Kendra and department of agriculture, Indore will reach different villages and directly communicate with the farmers. The teams will inform the farmers about the production technology to be applied during sowing in the Kharif season.

Dr. KH Singh, director of the Institute, said that it was a good opportunity to respond to the action plan of the central government calling for information convergence for taking the knowledge, technologies and other products developed by the research institutions to the farmers i.e. ‘lab-to-land’.

According to Dr Singh, during the campaign, knowledge of modern agricultural practices, techniques, latest varieties and welfare schemes of the ministry of agriculture will be promoted among the farmers.

The detailed plan in this regard has already been finalised in a meeting under the chairmanship of Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Union minister of agriculture and farmers’ welfare, attended by senior Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) officials.
