Firozpur. Farmers protest continues in Firozpur, Punjab. Farmers are protesting against the liquor factory in Mansoor Wala village of Jeera. Meanwhile, there was a tremendous clash between the protesting farmers and the police officers on Tuesday.

Farmers are protesting for closure of liquor factory

Let us tell you that for the last several days, demonstrations are being held on behalf of the farmers and the local people for the closure of the liquor factory in Jeera of Ferozepur. Many farmers had gathered at the Puda Ground on Monday in Patiala’s Block Patiala-1 and Patiala-2, Sanour, demanding the closure of the factory on behalf of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta (Ugrahan). After this, the farmers took out a march and demonstrated against the state government. It may be noted that for the last five months, farmers have been protesting for the closure of the liquor factory in Jeera.

Liquor factory should be closed or else there will be protest in other districts also: Farmer

Police also arrested several protesters during the demonstration. Block Pradhan Jagdeep Singh Channa, Sukhminder Singh Baran, Harpreet Singh Daun Kalan said that the arrested farmers and others should be released immediately. The factory should be shut down immediately. A case should be registered against the factory owner. Apart from this, district leaders Balraj Joshi and Karnail Singh said that if the Punjab government does not accept the demands of the morcha related to the liquor factory, then in the coming days this movement will be started in other districts of Punjab as well.
