Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A farmer was allegedly murdered by four miscreants in Madhya Pradesh’s Barethi village, located 60 km from Khajuraho on Friday. The incident occurred after the farmer refused to compromise in an ongoing assault case.
The deceased was identified as Maniram Ahirwar (50), resident of Barethi village.
They attacked the farmer with sticks, rods and axes, when he was sleeping in his field on Thursday. Upon receiving the information, the police arrested two accused on Friday.

According to the information, there was a land dispute between the two parties for a long time. After this, farmer Maniram Ahirwar complained about Rampratap Singh and Gyanendra Singh to the police station and a case was going on. After this, the accused pressurised the farmer for compromise but he refused.
Angry, Rampratap, Gyanendra along with two other miscreants went to farmer Maniram filed on Thursday night. They then attacked him with sticks, rods and axes when he was sleeping.
When his family came to know about this, they called the police and took him to the district hospital in critical condition. He died during the treatment in hospital.
Meanwhile, the police also reached the spot and arrested two accused. The police have registered a case. Further investigations are underway.
