VIDEO: Farmer Crawls On Knees With Family To Protest Against Land Problem In MP’s Dewas | x

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a shocking incident, a farmer was found crawling on his knees, along with his wife and children, in front of the sub-divisional magistrate office Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh.

The incident came to fore through a video widely circulating on social media, which is said to emerge from Dewas district’s Khategoan village.

According to  information, a farmer named Lakshman, along with his wife and three children, resorted to walking on their knees at the sub-divisional magistrate office to draw attention towards their ordeal over a land dispute.

Video went viral

Lakshman alleged that a neighbor had blocked access to his 1.5-acre agricultural land in Davtha village, about 100 kilometers from the district headquarters. Also, he had prevented him from harvesting his maize crop.

He also reported the matter to authorities in the past, however, but did not receive any solution. Helpless by the lack of response to his repeated appeals, the family staged this unusual protest on Wednesday.

A video of their act went viral on social media the following day.

Responding to the incident, SDM Priya Chandrawat informed that the farmer had already lost a civil court case against his neighbour regarding this matter. However, she assured that  the tehsildar and patwari would visit the site to try and find the solution of the matter.
