Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, who recently attended a fan event in Dallas, Texas, is at the center of an online controversy after a fan expressed disappointment over an unpleasant experience at the meet and greet. Several pictures and videos of Hrithik from the event have been circulating on social media, but not all attendees left with smiles or selfies.
A fan who claims to have spent over Rs 12 lakh (approximately $1,500 per person plus general admission) to meet the Fighter actor has gone viral for sharing their frustration online after being denied a photo with the star.
A screenshot of the fan’s post was shared on Reddit, quickly catching the attention of netizens.
The fan wrote, “Spent $1500 + general admission tickets for each person to meet Hrithik Roshan and I didn’t even get a picture. Refused to take pictures with half the meet and greet line and turned us away even though we spent so much money. We waited 2 hours in line just to get refused??”
The fan also noted that Hrithik appeared irritated himself, implying the event may not have been well-organised from the actor’s side either.
Further expressing frustration over the event’s poor management and lack of transparency, the person added, “Not to mention it was outside in such cold weather. He showed up for a 30 minute show. Waste of VIP!!! Oh yes they won’t even give us a refund!! Love Hrithik but this event was so unorganised even he was annoyed.”
So far, Hrithik and his team have not released any official statement regarding the incident.
Another user expressed disappointment over poor management and accused the organisers of playing with fans’ emotions.
“Deeply disappointed by the shocking mismanagement at the event. Our kids prepared for over 2 months, only to be made to wait over 8 hours in unsafe, overcrowded conditions — without even basic offering of water. The organizers cheated them of their moment and played with their emotions. This experience has left a scar that these children will carry for a long time. Totally unacceptable and we parents will be considering to sue the organisers who cared only about their own promotion without any regard of kids and parents feelings, time, and money spent,” read a comment on Instagram.
‘Kids were pushed off the stage’
An Instagram user also revealed that kids, who were supposed to perform with Hrithik during the event, were pushed off the stage.
“I am a parent of my little girl Kiara who is part of Arya dancing group. Yesterday right when kids got on state to perform, their song began and immediately they were pushed off stage. I have the video that shows shocked and scared kids being rushed off stage. My 9yr daughter expressed her fear where all kids were scared crying and and hugging each other behind stage. They performed for weeks leading to this amazing event and they are traumatised. We as kids get scarred if something little to us as adults but not so little to them as these are their first experiences,” the fan wrote.

Netizens react to the now-viral post
Soon after the post was shared on Reddit, netizens voices similar concerns and slammed the organisers.
A user commented, “The location is also weird. It was in the parking lot of a mall.” Another wrote, “I wouldn’t even pay this much if the end deal was to marry HR.”
“This is completely true! My friend went and she said it was horrible. Next he is coming to NJ and see the poster! Ridiculous pricing,” wrote another user.
“People here are gonna blame the organisers but surely a star of Hrithik’s stature and experience knows that a pay meet and greet in a mall’s parking lot planned by local Indian Americans is rarely gonna go well so I judge him for trying to make a quick buck at the cost of the fans, who also should’ve known better,” read another comment.
A section of users also questioned why the fans paid a whopping amount to meet the actor in person. “1500 $ to see a celebrity 😂Why ? Like, it’s ok It’s their money, and they can do whatever with it but why is this culture of worshipping celebrities… I will go shopping if I have $ 1500 instead of paying it to see a celebrity.”
“Why put the blame on the organizers only ? Hrithik needs to be blamed as well,” another Reddit user wrote.
Hrithik will meet his fans in New Jersey on April 10, in Chicago on April 12 and in Bay Area on April 13.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Hrithik recently announced his debut as a director. Besides playing the lead, he will also helm Krrish 4. The first three films of the superhero franchise were directed by Hrithik’s father, veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan.
Hrithik will also be seen in War 2 which will hit the big screens on August 14, 2025. The film also stars Kiara Advani and Jr NTR.
