Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli was spotted at the Chennai Airport along with his teammates as they arrived to face the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on March 28, Friday. The 36-year-old was greeted to massive cheers from fans as he was coming out of the airport and they cheered ‘Ee Sala Cup Namde’.

The Delhi-born cricketer was in his element on the night as he stayed unbeaten on 59 to fire the Royal Challengers to a seven-wicket victory over the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders in the opening game. The veteran clattered four fours and three sixes in his 36-ball knock as he and Phil Salt broke the back of the run-chase of 175. The Royal Challengers needed only 16.2 overs to win the game with seven wickets to spare.

Chennai Super Kings had opened their campaign with a victory over the Mumbai Indians

Despite a commanding win of their own against the Kolkata Knight Riders, the Royal Challengers will be wary of the Chennai Super Kings, whose spin attack left no stone unturned in troubling the Mumbai Indians. The Super Kings will also remember that it was the Royal Challengers who ended their IPL 2024 campaign.

Kohli, who scored a swashbuckling half-century against the Knight Riders, has a strong record against the Yellow Army. In 34 matches, the Delhi-born cricketer has accumulated 1067 runs at 36.79 along with nine fifties and a strike rate of 126.12.
