A video from Raj Mandir Cinema in Jaipur has been doing the rounds on social media in which people can be seen alleging that they are being forced to watch Varun Dhawan’s recently released film Baby John on tickets booked for Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: 2 The Rule. On Christmas holiday, people stepped out to watch Pushpa 2 with their friends and family members, however, they were disappointed to know that the morning show was cancelled with prior intimation.
In the video, the individuals revealed that they had booked their tickets a few days in advance. However, upon reaching the cinema hall on Wednesday (December 25), they were informed by the theater management that the 10:45 am show had been canceled and Baby John was being screened instead.
As the theatre management and online ticket booking platform BookMyShow did not inform them about the show’s cancellation, people demanded an explanation and created ruckus outside the cinema hall.
They said that no message or notification about the change of movie had been sent and the ticket fees was also not refunded. They questioned how another movie was suddenly being screened.
According to media reports, the cinema hall staff stated in response that the change was made due to a decision by the producers, and they had no control over it. Upon hearing this, some people watched Baby John and others left the theatre. Some of them accused the theatre management of mismanagement and protested.
“I had booked tickets for Pushpa 2 on the BookMyShow on 21st December, but when I came here, they said that the show is cancelled, and that I will have to watch the other show forcibly,” a person said.
Another added, “They said the 10:45 am show is cancelled, the 2:30 pm show will go on as usual. They said that the cancellation was done by the producers. I have neither received a refund from BookMyShow nor any notification.”
