A Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) fan lashed out at the Yellow Army over their shambolic performance against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2025 game on Friday at the Chepauk. With the fan revealing that he had paid ₹4000 to watch the game, he expressed disappointment at everything going down the drain.
With Dhoni returning to lead the Super Kings due to Ruturaj Gaikwad’s elbow fracture, there was plenty of hype and fans speculated that the five-time champions’ fortunes will be reversed after losing four games on the trot. However, the Super Kings produced one of their worst performances in IPL history and succumbed to an eight-wicket loss. It is also their third consecutive home defeat.
Speaking to a reporter after the game, the fan said in Tamil:
“All waste, CSK management waste, captain waste. Don’t know what they are doing. I’m watching Test cricket in T20. I bought tickets worth ₹4000. All waste. They are not CSK fans, only MS Dhoni’s.”
“Need to look deep down inside” – MS Dhoni
With the Super Kings managing only 103 on the board and Kolkata winning in a canter, Dhoni admitted that the opposition spinners exploited the conditions brilliantly and lamented the lack of partnerships for CSK.
“Quite a few nights haven’t gone our way. Need to look deep down inside. Challenge was there, but we needed to tackle. Didn’t have enough runs on the board today. Ball stopped that has been the case, even in the second innings it stopped. Today it stopped in the first innings as well. With quality spinners, it is difficult. We didn’t get partnerships as well.”
The Super Kings will next face the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 14, Monday in an away fixture.
