A female fan confronted Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed during the second ODI against New Zealand on Wednesday at the Seddon Park in Hamilton. In a video surfaced on social media, the female fan was seen screaming a few words to the leg-spinner for his send-off to Shubman Gill during the Champions Trophy 2025 match.
After cleaning up the Indian opener with a ripper of a delivery during the massive game in Dubai, Abrar came up with a unique send-off as he gestured with his eyes, urging Gill to return to the pavilion. The send-off sparked massive meme fest, but ex-Pakistan captain Wasim Akram criticised his fellow countryman for the same, saying that he should’ve been humble, no matte the situation of the match.

Although Abrar bowled well in the match, finishing with tidy figures of 10-0-28-1, the Men in Green failed to defend 242 in the game and lost by six wickets. Additionally, the defending champions finished the tournament winless.
