Sagar (Malthone): A gas cylinder explosion in the house of former District Panchayat President Gopi Ram Ahirwar left the whole family injured in Malthone, Sagar district. The blast occurred at 2 am on Sunday shaking the entire locality and causing the roof and walls of the house to collapse.
The explosion, reportedly caused by an electrical short circuit igniting the gas, severely impacted the family of 11, who were asleep at the time. Among the injured, three members, including Gopi Ram (56), Kranti Bai (25), and their 3-year-old daughter, Bedika, were critically injured and rushed to the district hospital.
The daughter-in-law and another daughter also suffered severe burns from the fire. Nearby residents quickly responded, rescuing the victims and notifying emergency services. After initial treatment at the Primary Health Center, the severely injured were transferred to district hospital for further care.

Local authorities, including Naib Tehsildar Kamlesh Satnami and Municipal Officer Prabhu Shankar Khare, visited the site and initiated panchnama proceedings. The Naib Tehsildar confirmed that the house was uninhabitable due to extensive damage and assured that arrangements would be made for the family’s accommodation and food.
Satendra Singh Bamora, a representative of regional MLA Bhupendra Singh, also visited the hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured. The tragic incident has left the local community shaken, as authorities continue to provide support to the affected family.
