Mumbai: Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his separate wife Dhanashree Verma were divorced by a family court today. The Bombay High Court yesterday ordered the Family Court to pronounce its verdict today, in which the compulsory six -month period has been abolished after the petition filed by the two sides for divorce by mutual consent. The High Court also said that due to the commencement of IPL, there may be no available. Chahal and Verma’s lawyers confirmed that divorce had been approved. Both Dhanashree and Chahal appeared in the Bandra Family Court today.
According to the terms of divorce, Chahal Verma had to pay a maintenance amount of Rs 4.75 crore in two installments. He had paid half the amount while filing the application for divorce and the remaining amount was to be paid after the divorce decision.
The High Court quashed the six-month period, saying that the two have been living separately for two and a half years and have followed the maintenance payments fixed during mediation.
Punjab Kings XI team spinner Chahal will join the IPL starting on March 22. Chahal and Verma were married in December 2020. However, they started living separately from June 2022. On 5 February, he applied for divorce by mutual consent and requested that the six-month cooling-off period be waived. The Family Court rejected the request and appealed to the High Court. The family court found that only partial amount of maintenance has been paid. The High Court had said that as per the conditions, it has been decided to pay the second install of the maintenance amount after the issuance of divorce. Therefore, there is no problem in canceling the six-month cooling-off period.

The song shows Dhanashree’s husband cheating on a relationship with another woman and later shown to slap and apologize. In the song, Dhanashree finally breaks all the relationship with her husband.
