Indore (Madhya Pradesh): An IndiGo flight from Indore to Pune was delayed by nearly two hours on Friday night due to a technical glitch. The flight, scheduled to depart at 9:55 PM, finally took off around 11:55 PM after a false emergency signal caused concern in the cockpit.
According to airport sources, flight 6E147 was preparing to depart from Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport with over 163 passengers on board. As the aircraft was getting ready for takeoff, the pilot received an emergency alert indicating that one of the aircraft’s doors was open.
The crew immediately checked the emergency exit, but it was confirmed to be properly closed. Despite this, the cockpit alarm continued to flash the same warning. The pilot then personally inspected the door, only to find it secure. However, the persistent alert forced him to notify Air Traffic Control and ground engineers.
Technical experts from IndiGo were called in to assess the issue. After a thorough inspection, they concluded it was a false alert triggered by a technical fault. The warning system was reset, and the aircraft was cleared for takeoff. This incident caused significant inconvenience to the passengers, but safety protocols were followed throughout the process. The flight eventually departed at 11:55 PM without further issues.
