After Pakistani model Hania Amir’s Instagram story criticising their Army went viral amid the Pahalgam terror attack, cricketer Babar Azam has suffered the same fate. A fake screenshot of the same has surfaced on social media as he blamed the Pakistan Army for resorting to dirty politics and ruining the lives of the innocent citizens.
At least 12 tourists have been reported injured and 20 of them lost their lives as unidentified gunmen shot them during the terror attack in Pahalgam. With Pakistan’s militant groups allegedly causing the attack, the Indian government has taken strict measures against the country, banning several famous personalities’ YouTube and Twitter accounts from operating in the country. Babar is one of the cricketers whose account on X have been withheld from India.
In the screenshot, going viral on social media, it read:
“As a cricketer I have always loved playing in India and have considered it my second home. It is unfortunate that my Instagram account is currently banned in India. I want to make it absolutely clear – cricketers are not involved in Pahalgam attack.”
“What’s happening is the result of the dirty politics driven by the Pakistani Army. I won’t take names but everyone knows who truly holds power in Pakistan and who continues to protect and support terrorism. To the Pakistan Army – your actions are making innocent Pakistani citizens suffer. Stop sponsoring terrorism.”
